Help and FAQ
This is the quick path to answers. If your question is not covered, send a note through our Contact page and include a link or screenshot so we can see what you see.
How do I manage newsletter emails.
Open any Learning Bull email and choose Manage Preferences at the footer. Unsubscribe removes you from that list immediately. We comply with Canadian law and document our approach in the Privacy Policy referenced above.
Do you offer personal investment advice.
No. We publish education and research for general information. It is not individualized advice and it is not a recommendation. For the full framework that governs your use of the site, read our Terms of Use
Why can I not access a chart or table.
Clear your cache, refresh the page, and try another browser. If the issue persists, tell us the URL, device, browser version, and the time the error occurred so we can investigate.
How do I request my data or ask for a correction to my information.
Write to privacy[at]learningbull.ca with “Data Request” in the subject line. Include the email tied to your account. We verify identity before releasing anything.
Are your pages accessible.
We design for keyboard navigation and screen readers and we aim for strong contrast and descriptive alt text. If you need content in another format, tell us what works best and we will provide it when possible.
Can I follow specific tickers or topics and get alerts
Yes. On any company or topic page you can select Follow to add it to your personal watch list. Followed items surface more often in newsletters and in on-site modules tied to your account. You can turn alerts on or off at any time from your email preferences or your account settings.
What time zone are your timestamps, and how fresh is market data
Publication and update times are shown in Eastern Time in Canada unless stated otherwise. Intraday quotes and charts refresh on a frequent schedule, but some feeds carry exchange-mandated delays. Earnings figures and fundamentals update after issuers file, and we annotate restatements when they occur.
How do you calculate dividend yield and payout ratio
Dividend yield reflects the indicated annual dividend divided by the current share price. Payout ratio usually reflects dividends divided by net income. When free cash flow is the more relevant yardstick for a specific company, we note that and calculate payout using free cash flow. Method notes appear on pages that rely on formulas so you can see exactly what went into the number.
Can I download or reuse charts and data for personal projects
Most charts include a Download CSV option when licensing permits. You can save images for personal reference as well. Republishing our content or building a database from it requires permission. If you have a classroom or internal corporate use case, email support[at]learningbull.ca with the URL, audience size, and how long you need access.
Why might an article change after I first read it
Stories evolve as new facts arrive. We add updates for fresh information, clarifications when wording could mislead, and corrections when a factual error affects meaning. Significant changes carry a time-stamped note at the bottom of the article, and the update also appears in our public corrections record.
Archives
Every story finds a permanent home in the Archives. Browse by month, filter by desk, or search by company ticker, sector, and topic. Labels tell you whether a piece is news, analysis, opinion, or a data feature, and notes appear when a correction or methodology update affects the work.
Reader Services improves with feedback. If a feature would make your routine easier, tell us what you have in mind. We read every message and use your suggestions to shape what we build next.
